The Spanish rider has won eight Motorcycle World Championship titles in the categories: 125cc (2010), Moto2 (2012) and MotoGP (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019). In his first season in the top category he won the Motorcycle World Championship (2013), becoming the youngest rider to win a MotoGP championship, surpassing Freddie Spencer 's record. He is also the youngest rider in history to be a six-time champion in the premier category of motorcycling. In 2024 he joins Gresini Racing with his brother Álex Márquez .
